One of my best friends in country.

mcmahon10_small.jpg (4956 bytes)

mcmahon6_small.jpg (5808 bytes)

Charlie Miller, Escarcega, Capt. Sambito? Stash tee shirt and back turned? Vooch (hyd.) walking to 46. .

mcmahon15_small.jpg (5254 bytes)

Slush & Vooch. Looks like a strut change.

mcmahon8_small.jpg (6086 bytes)

We kept them blindfolded so they couldn't see how far down it was when we made them walk the plank (ramp).

mcmahon14_small.jpg (5271 bytes)

Looks like Maj. Corliss just took a dip. We had some fun beer parties!

mcmahon11_small.jpg (4063 bytes)

Just another morning for the boys of 262. Look out Sadam we're ready for you too

mcmahon9_small.jpg (4770 bytes)

This is one we witnessed at Marble Mountain. It's what got Jimmy Akstin. That's what the aft pylon beef up was all about. Too bad it killed some good "Tigers"! We had to suffer in Fatima because of Boeings engineering mistakes. Oh well we lived through it!

mcmahon12_small.jpg (4730 bytes)

Bailey and his hydraulics boys, I forget the guys name with the tong out but he came to us from HMM-265( a tweek next to Beetle, R.C. Clark), Me, (Vooch) Vucinovich, (Animal) Grier, Conrad Johnson.

mcmahon13_small.jpg (5255 bytes)

L.E. Hawkins (motor "T"), Vooch (hyd.), Slush (hyd.). Out the back door of hydraulics shop Ky Ha. I remember that refrigerator in the window, we always had a gerry can full of ice water. What a treat that was for us hard working "Jarheads". At least it held us over till club time and a cold beer or two!

mcmahon17_small.jpg (2690 bytes)

Sudden stoppage inspection. Was it Kevin, Bob, or Igor. Who's bird was that? I think Kevin was driving and Bob taxing (inside joke for NJ State Police maint. dept.) ET26. We want a warrantee! From the mouth of my chief of maint.

mcmahon5_small.jpg (5899 bytes)

Top takes a swim. That's the Top the guys are getting ready to throw in. I missed the Skipper. He was usually the first in!  It looks like Jacobs & Buda on the barbed wire fence? I think that's Jim Kirschnick coming up the hill. Anybody know what became of him? He was our (hyd. & sheet metal) OIC.

mcmahon16_small.jpg (3434 bytes)

I don't know how I keep getting in these pictures but I thought you might remember Steve Linebaugh (Paraloft) from NJ where else would a rigger come from, Ray "Chicken Man" Semkow (hyd.) from NYC. Chicken Man one of my best friends went to HMM-164.  I haven't heard from his since he shot Conrad Johnson's big toe off. I guess he just faded into the Big City.

mcmahon23_small.jpg (2796 bytes)

Who wants to race my NC5?

mcmahon18_small.jpg (3391 bytes)

Slush, Vooch, Grier, Johnson

mcmahon19_small.jpg (3961 bytes)

mcmahon20_small.jpg (3017 bytes)

I guess these were kills of the little ones!

mcmahon21_small.jpg (2949 bytes)

Slush at Ky Ha. Remember the ship in the background? It ran aground, they tried to free it with tug boats and couldn't. It finally just broke apart on the rocks

mcmahon22_small.jpg (3691 bytes)

C.A. Riner (avionics), Can anybody reconize the guy on the steps? It looks like a pilot. J.B. Lopez (hyd.) Who was the crew chief on ET44?

mcmahon3_small.jpg (5552 bytes)

Some of the hydraulics shop. Don't worry Slush I have some of you. Me, (Vooch) Vucinovich, (Animal) Grier, Conrad Johnson ( the guy that "Chicken Man" Ray Semkow) shot off his big toe, then Conrad got to go home early, toeless

mcmahon24_small.jpg (2139 bytes)

That's all I could fit in my lens! 46s everywhere, it took a lot of wrench turning and tin pecking to keep them all up but we tried our best. We had to feed & resupply & medevac the boys in the mud.   Tim PS wwlamb@mindspring.com  (he's my DI from PI. I just got e-mail from him the other day, first I heard from him in 33 years!) Semper Fi
