RTB MASTER GUNNERY SERGEANT LLOYD N. KARR
August 01, 2005

We have lost a friend and a brother Marine.  "Little Top" Karr may be gone from our sight, but his memory will stay with us all for as long as we get together at our reunions. Those of us who were able to attend the HMM-262 Old Tigers Reunion Houston ’05 had the privilege of spending some time with him.  He joined us at the Reunion this past July 21-24. He was usually the shortest guy in the room, but there was no doubt that when "Top" was present, he was all Marine.  And, he always had a smile on his face and a good word for everyone.

Oh how he loved to dance with the ladies, and last weekend was no exception. He did us the honor of cutting our cake along with the youngest Marine present.

Top, thank you for all the advice and guidance back then 38 years ago, when we went to war together.
No doubt many of us are alive today because of your advice, tutelage and professionalism, keeping
us in the air and helping to make it possible for us to come back home alive.

We are proud to call you a friend, and you will be sorely missed by many, many Marine brothers.
