Captain Donald Lee Templeton 082153/7562 USMC was from Gallatin, Tenn. He was born on November 13, 1939. He arrived in Vietnam for his second combat tour on June 29, 1968. He was dark and slim, polite and very reserved, almost grave in manner. He was an extremely competent pilot. He was 28 years old at the time of his death. He died on September 21, 1968 in Quang Tri Province. He was the aircraft commander of CH-46D buno 152557 which crashed on land due to hostile causes. His body  was recovered. He was not married. His race  was officially listed as Caucasian. His religion was Protestant. He had ten years of service at the time of his death.
